Processing information

The personal information we ask for is gathered purely to identify you as a hirer. It is usually, but not limited to, your name, email address, telephone number, address and postcode. Our lawful basis for processing your data is to pursue the legitimate interests of our service, which is usually the hire and subsequent return of a carrier from our collection. You will be asked to opt in to this processing by electronic sign up when you first create your hire account. Your information is stored securely online using the myTurn hire system.

MyTurn.com, pbc. has its base in the US and complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. It’s Privacy Shield certification can be verified by visiting https://www.privacyshield.gov/list and searching for ‘myTurn’.

Processing payments

In order to hire a carrier we ask you to provide debit card details which are stored by GDPR compliant provider Stripe as part of your sign up process. WYSL will ask you to consent to their storage and future processing and payments. We ask for these details to protect our rights and property, and use them to enforce our terms and conditions of hire. The Stripe policy can be seen online here stripe.com/gb/privacy

Retaining data

WYSL will use the myTurn system to store data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill our interests including the terms of our insurances and for tax reasons. Some of the data will be depersonalised or deactivated before being retained for legitimate safety reasons, for example in the case of checking how many times a carrier has been hired before it is due to retire.

Deleting data

You have the right to ask us to delete the data that we hold for you, and we will update our records to reflect your right to privacy, we must retain our transaction history for tax records. In order for us to delete or depersonalise your data you will need to return all your hired items to our collection first.

Sharing data

We do not use your information to contact you about any other subject, nor share it with anyone else beyond our third party service providers detailed here.
